What to Expect Sundays at Kids Church...

Here’s some answers to a few popular questions about Kids Church...

  • What are the ages for Kids Church?

Our Kids Church is for all kids ages Pre-K through 5th grade.

  • What do you have for toddlers and / or babies? Nursery?

We have a lovely nursery right next to our auditorium for families that prefer to sit in there with their babies or toddlers. There is a one way window that looks into the worship service in the auditorium, as well as a TV that broadcasts our worship service livestream so you don’t miss anything.

Our nursery is sanitized before Sunday service every week, and is clean and comfortable with changing table, comfortable chairs, some toys and books, as well as a private nursing room for those who wish to use it.

  • What do I do when I arrive with my children?

When you enter the church foyer, you will see the Kids Church counter off to the left. You are welcome to come to the counter to check in your kids for Kids Church. You will receive a pager in case they need to contact you during service. Your children then can sit with you for the beginning of worship before being dismissed to go to Kids Church after our communion time and before the sermon.

  • What do my kids do during the worship service?

We love having the children take part in our musical worship with families! Your kids sit with you, and you are together through the music and communion. After communion, the Kids are dismissed and escorted downstairs for Kids Church.

After worship, you are welcome to go downstairs and check out your child(ren) and return the pager. Kids are not released on their own, parents have to go check them out.

  • What if there is no Kids Church?

There are a few Sundays where there is no Kids Church, such as holiday services. On these Sundays, the Kids Church team have activity packets for the kids available at the Kids Church Counter. They can pick them up and kids have something to help them with their wiggles during worship service!

  • What if my child is loud during worship service?

All children of all ages are welcome. There is a nursery / cry room available during the service for those that feel the need, such as a baby crying. The nursery has a window that looks into the auditorium and a TV that broadcasts our livestream of the service, so you don’t miss out.

With that being said, there are some children that will still be noisy during service. Children get loud. We have a few children with special needs, and you will hear them during service laughing or making noises sometimes. It is perfectly fine. We don’t mind it, our preachers don’t mind it, our worship team doesn’t mind it, our church family does not mind it. We do not want anyone to feel uncomfortable. Everyone is welcome.

  • Who is with our children during Kids Church?

Kids Church is led by our Children’s Ministry Director and their Children’s Ministry Team. Every person who serves in the Children’s (and Youth Group) ministries, has to pass a national background check and be trained. There is always a minimum of two adults in our Kids Church, usually more.

If more children show up and we need more volunteers, we call on another Children’s Ministry volunteer to help.

No one is allowed in the Kids Church area with the children during Kids Church except for our Children’s Ministry team. Kids are checked in and checked out to the parent or guardian with whom they arrived at church.
